About us

Meadowmere Children’s Services was created to fill a void in the Unregulated/ Unregistered sector. The senior Management team identified that 28 day provisions were not offering the support that young people in deep crisis needed. 28 days is not enough time to take a young person in severe emotional crisis (often brough on through Trauma or PTSD) and help them to re-engage with their former residential home, or to be ready to enter a new setting.

Our placements are bespoke to the individual child or young person, we have a 16 weeks program that incorporates Education, Activities, Mind Mastery and Therapies, which are not currently being offered in 28 days provisions.

We have also identified that in 28-day placements, the young person often hasn’t even emptied their carrier bags, before they are repacking them and moving on to their next placement.

This amounts to a systemic failure and reoccurring trend, which in turn is detrimental to the young person’s prospects academically and does not support their path to mental wellbeing.

Our approach at Meadowmere supports the young person to access Education and Therapies from day one.

Each young person is designed an Education program that ensures when they exit our service at week 16, they have a portfolio of certificates to assist them to re enter mainstream or alternative education at their next residential setting.

Educational promotion is also supported by CCATS who deliver the therapies to our young people, as well as supporting the staff team via training and clinical oversight of care.

Our senior Management team have over 45 years combined experience of working with some of the most challenging young people in this sector.

Our MDT team comprises of:

  • Clinical Psychologists

  • Teachers

  • Mind & Wellbeing coaches (through Mindful Mastery)

  • Homes Managers with proven track records in Children’s residential homes

Children’s wishes and feelings are the foundation of our care. Every child should have a sense of belonging and know there is a positive pathway ahead where their wishes and dreams can become reality.

At Meadowmere we believe in: The Right therapy for the Right child at the Right time.

Young people are seen by the therapies and education team within 48 hrs of becoming part of our home.

Education is delivered from day one of the young persons placement (excluding weekends).

A full report is completed by both the education and therapy team and follows the young person through their 16 weeks stay with us, culminating in a final progress report in week 15.
